To ensure the appropriate quality and safety of the electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits, it was necessary to define specific requirements. These are covered by EMC Directive (Electromagnetic Compatibility), i.e. Directive 2014/35/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council.

Directive 2014/35/EU defines requirements relating to the making available on the market of electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits, while at the same time it lays down general rules for CE marking.

Product assessment in compliance with Directive 2014/35/EU is recommended to all entities who wish to place their products, as defined above, on the EU market.
